  • What kind of church is FCC?
  • First Christian Church is a non-denominational, Bible-believing church that is affiliated with the independent Christian Church. The independent Christian Church arose out of the Restoration Movement of the early 1800s, which was an interdenominational effort to restore unity among various Christian denominations by restoring the church as described in the New Testament. Several key mottos of this movement have been: "In essentials unity, in non-essentials liberty, and in all things love." "Where the Bible speaks, we speak. Where the Bible is silent, we are silent."

  • How big is FCC?
  • FCC's average attendance on a Sunday morning this year has been around 200. We believe that in order to be obedient to Jesus' commands, we must continue to lead more people in the Victor Valley to Jesus. As we do, we will certainly grow larger in numbers. Part of our Vision as a church is to grow to a size of about 500 in Sunday morning attendance at which point we would begin planting new churches in other parts of the Victor Valley. We want to be obedient to Jesus' command to grow while maintaining the family feel and personal touch that enhances our ability to grow deeper Christians.

  • How long has FCC been around?
  • First Christian Church was founded in 1925, making it one of the most established churches in the Victor Valley. During most of these years our church facility was in downtown Victorville on the corner of 6th and B streets. By the early 1990s our church family was outgrowing our downtown facility and began making plans to relocate. In 1994, after George Air Force Base closed, our FCC family purchased the military chapel and moved to our current facility on George Blvd.

  • What kind of ministries does FCC have?
  • FCC has ongoing ministries for children, teens, men and women. Our motto here at FCC is "a church for the whole family." We intentionally make efforts to minister to every member of the family. For more information on FCC's ministries, click on the ministries link of this website.

  • What can I expect if I visit on a Sunday morning?
  • When you visit FCC on a Sunday morning for our 10 am Worship Celebration, you can expect a warm, friendly crowd and a comfortable church facility. We will not single you out or embarrass you at any point during your visit. We spell out different details of the worship service and children's ministries in the bulletin and on the projection screen to minimize confusion during your visit. Our Nursery and 3's and 4's Class are staffed by loving volunteers, and we offer age-appropriate Bible lessons for all grade schoolers during the sermon time. The worship service includes upbeat praise songs, communion and a challenging Bible message. After the service we usually offer light refreshments.

  • What kind of music can I expect?
  • We understand that there are many different styles of music, even among churches. We have chosen to sing a mixture of traditional and contemporary praise and worship songs during our Worship Celebrations (some hymns, some older choruses, and some new choruses). Regardless of the song, our worship band leads in a very upbeat and contemporary manner. Many churches choose just one style of worship song. We, however, believe that as a church for the whole family, it's best for us to offer something each week for worshippers of all ages. We believe that God is pleased when He sees a teenager standing next to a senior worshipping God with the same song.

  • What kind of sermon can I expect?
  • Pastor Dane has been blessed by God with a heart and passion for preaching God's word in a faithful but captivating manner. Many people comment that Dane's sermons are interesting and easy to understand and apply to our lives. We think you'll agree. • Does FCC offer Sunday School?

  • Does FCC offer marriage or family counseling?

If more sessions are needed, he usually will refer the couple/family to a professional Christian counselor in the area who is trained for long-term counseling
